Albert Durazo

Albert Durazo, President of Pacific Lighthouse Insurance Agency (PLIA), has extensive experience in the insurance industry dating back to 1989. He is thankful and proud of the mentors he has had along the way who taught him to always act ethically, professionally and to always place the customer’s interest first–all qualities that he still carries to this day and that have been foundational to the culture of PLIA.

Albert initially started his career in the insurance industry for an insurance software company. Moved by his desire to grow and with plenty of commendations from customers for his excellence in service, he became a licensed Fire & Casualty insurance agent in 1996. He initially specialized in personal insurance products, an area that got him started in the industry and still holds dear to his heart. His areas of expertise included personal auto, home, umbrella, recreational vehicles, collector cars and rental properties.

In 2000 he added Life Insurance to his product knowledge. That same year he expanded his areas of expertise to also include commercial insurance and employee benefits enabling him to handle professional liability, general liability, bonds, commercial auto, commercial property, workers’ compensation, small group life and health insurance. For his hard work and dedication that same year he was promoted into management.

Now President and sole owner of Pacific Lighthouse Insurance Agency (formerly Matles Insurance Agency), Albert Durazo continues to show a high level of professionalism in dealing with staff and customers alike. He strives to not only sell insurance but make sure that he approaches each client as a risk manager, providing top quality coverage and making sure that all insurance needs are met.

Albert’s extensive experience and knowledge in the industry is highly respected and is welcomed by local colleges that invite him on a yearly basis to be a guest speaker in their business development classes. Students with interest in the industry often shadow him to learn more about the industry or to learn more about the ins and outs of developing their own businesses.

Albert takes great pride in giving back to the community by being an active member and often presiding athletic and academic organizations such as Little League Baseball and PTA. This active involvement has earned him Parent of the Year honors and Community Leader of the Year awards.

Albert is a proud father of three wonderful children and can often be found cheering for his son at his high school baseball games, along poolside at his daughters’ swim meets, or in the audience for their dance performances.
